Our Mission

The Colorado Prescribed Fire Council provides a unified voice for land managers and other supporters of prescribed fire to advocate and promote the increased, appropriate, safe, and legal use of prescribed fire as a natural resource management tool.

What We Do

Council provides education, information and acts as a clearing house for people interested in prescribed fire. We provide the latest policy information, science, and experience based information to government employees, private land owners, the general public to promote the use of prescribed fire.

Why We Do It

We value Colorado’s Natural Resources.  Most of our members are land managers that face the challenge of protecting forests, grasslands, clean water, wildlife habitat.  We believe Rx Fire is one important and useful tool to help manage the wildlands we all cherish.

Implementation

The Colorado Prescribed Fire Council provides prescribed fire mangers and others information and resources to ensure prescribed fire projects are done to the highest standard.

Education

Education and training events provide practitioners with the latest and best science and practical guidance enhancing on use of prescribed fire.
